CAS Hanwei Exclusive Gustav Rapier hilt fitted onto a Practical Fencing Blade. The hilt is based on the original museum piece on display at The Royal Armoury museum in Stockholm. The antique was made in Germany between 1625 and 1630. It was carried by Gustav II Adolf, King of Sweden until his death in 1632.
Hand crafted from 1566 high carbon spring steel with a full threaded tang. Stainless steel hilt with an intricate wire wrapped grip. A pierced plate protects the knuckles of the right hand. Features a dulled, flexible practical fencing blade that is legal for SCA rapier use.
The rapier is 45 1/4" overall with a 37" blade measured to the bottom of the basket, 39" measured to the crossguard. The point of balance is 1 5/8" from the bottom of the basket. Weighs around 2 pounds 6 ounces. The included rubber safety tip will add 3/4" to the length.
Replacement practical flexi blades are available.
