Main Gauche or Parrying Dagger 17th Century.
Designed to complement the Rapier this dagger features a ring to help protect the back of the hand and has long straight quillons to deflect an opponent’s blade. This style of fighting with a dagger in the off hand quickly became the norm all across Europe. The Dagger was often worn at the back slanted for a left hand draw and was often called a Left Hand Dagger. Comes with a high quality stiff heavy black leather scabbard.
