Stainless Steel Damascus Billets With VG10 Core
You can see the forged layer on the side by grinding and pickling.
There are about 30 layers on one side and 60 layers on the whole.
Middle clamp steel VG10, heat treatment to HRC 57-58 degrees.This steel is superior to steel 1095/15n20, especially in terms of rust and toughness. 1095/15n20 does not have such good toughness after heat treatment.
The double-sided steel is laminated with 10CR13+ secret composition steel, and the hardness is about 24 degrees HRC;
These steel billet has been heat treated and quenched. When you receive it, you can directly start processing:
1. Perform flat grinding and polishing according to the knife shape you want, and add water while grinding to avoid annealing.
2. After polishing is completed, use high-concentration lotion such as ferric chloride, sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, etc. for pickling again
Important Notes: If you want to re-do the acid etching, Finish it to 800 grit (the patterns will disappear after grinding), and then etching it with Ferric Cloride (mix it with water) the beautiful pattern will visible again.
