Description
Irish Sword, Hand and a Half Version – A Kingdom of Arms and Bruce Brookhart Design, Dating from the Late 1400s to the End of the 1500s A.D.
This late-period Irish longsword combines elegance in line, form, and function. Just like its continental counterparts, the Irish sword evolved alongside changes in combat forms. Although slightly slower, this sword remains excellent for both cut and thrust combat styles, and it's light enough to be used one-handed. As a true hand and a half sword, the lower part of the pommel must be gripped with the upper hand, providing a strong two-handed grip.
The wood grip is a split wire and green leather wrapping, and a wood core scabbard wrapped in green cow hide leather.
