This form of a side arm knife was in use for a very long period of time, especially in armored combat to pierce mail. The disk shaped pommel and guard made for a very secure grip, locking in the hand. The long, thin, single edged blade was able penetrate to the hard to reach areas on an armored opponent. The wood grip is wrapped in string and black leather, while the pommel features a decorative cross. Well tempered blade is from C60 high carbon steel. A good quality wood core scabbard covered in leather and with steel parts that matches the Wakefield Bastard Sword is included. A must for any collection of arms and armor.
