Side Sword – Renaissance Cut and Thrust Sword with Leather Grip & Scabbard

Side Sword – a historically inspired cut and thrust Renaissance sword designed exclusively by Bruce Brookhart. This versatile weapon is ideal for both foot combat and mounted use, combining elegant design with battlefield functionality.

The blade features a distinct triple-fuller design that reduces weight while maintaining structural strength. It is broad enough to deliver effective slashing attacks and tapers precisely for accurate thrusting and point work.

The hilt includes two ornate front rings for excellent hand protection, along with a single rear ring to deflect an opponent’s blade away from the user’s fingers. The grip is crafted from wood, wrapped in string, and finished in fine black leather for a secure and traditional look.

This Renaissance side sword is perfectly balanced with a rounded pommel for control during combat. It comes with a high-quality black leather scabbard featuring a steel throat and tip for durability and period accuracy. This weapon pairs perfectly with our matching buckler for complete historical reenactment or stage combat kits.
